Chapter Ten

It was Friday morning when Emma woke Eric up to get him to help her with something she was trying to bring upstairs. He groaned and waved a hand before he got up to help her carry the cabinet and boxes up to their apartment. "Why did you start becoming a morning person? You wake up before Damien even texts me now!"

"I get more done when I wake up early and have better sleep. Might as well take advantage of the extra boosts it gives me before I revert back," she shrugged and carried boxes up the stairs while Eric struggled. A full set of filing cabinets with contents locked safely inside was much harder to get up the stairs than anticipated. Even after Emma came back down to help the rest of the way, his arms were sore by the time it was inside the apartment.

"Never again, bring the items up here before you put them away," he slid down to the floor and glanced at his phone when it vibrated. "Crap, I forgot about my date with Damien! I've got to go get ready and have a pair of clothes. Uh, I'll see you late Saturday if not Sunday!" He rushed around, grabbing things and shoving them into a small suitcase to bring with him. If they were going to have a full weekend together then he didn't want to have to come back because he forgot something important. "You have the house to yourself, don't throw a huge party while I'm gone."

"Right, right, have fun on your date lover boy," Emma teased and watched him run out with a smile on her face. "That boy is going to lose something this weekend."

Eric arrived with flushed cheeks, letting himself inside for the umpteenth time. As was common, the house was filled with a delicious scent that overpowered everything else besides the slight hint of Damien's cologne. "Good morning babe, you're making a delectable breakfast again for us. Can I get a rundown on it?"

"First off is oatmeal with the toppings of butter, strawberries, and a few apple pieces. Optional peanut butter that's less artificial and more peanut. Secondly, we have croissant rolls wrapped around sausage, egg, and cheese. Finally, we have sweet green tea and orange juice for your morning boost," Damien set each thing down as he named it. Taking his seat next to his boyfriend, he pressed a kiss to his cheek then dug into his food.

"I'm in blissful food heaven," Eric hummed in absolute satisfaction at each bite. His muscled boyfriend was able to make a healthy breakfast and let it be filling enough to tide them over until lunch. "I'd never trade you for anyone else's cooking, you are a master," he claimed with complete sincerity.

"I'm also a master at a few other things but the saying goes that your stomach is the way to your heart." Winking playfully at Eric, he wiped some crumb off his face and licked it off his finger.
